Going to use my dad's compressor tomorrow to blow it out, hopefully it'll get even better. It's gotten much better already, far more usable. Just been trying to 'clean' inside the drive. Is there something I can do about this (maybe it needs cleaning inside or something ) or should I just accept the drive is old and probably a bit I didn't commit to that other RAM! So now my iMac will be maxed out at 1 GB of RAM =) Sometimes I have to hold down the eject button twice before I can get my fingers in there to pinch CDs out. As for YouTube, it's okay I have other computers around that can handle it.
Yeah, I looked up my machine and i'm pretty sure it supports up to 1GB. Is there any hope of getting basic performance on videos in such sites? The RAM should make an enormous difference in overall performance, surely? Would Ubuntu be better at this task. At the moment sites like YouTube freeze up the computer.

Do you think it's worth installing Ubuntu for PowerPC? Will it operate faster than under Panther? What is the software support situation like, I assume Intel compatible Ubuntu software wouldn't run on PPC?ģ. I know it's an old machine, but i'm determined to put it to good use.
